HWC Biosolids Storage

The construction of Biosolids storage areas at various Hunter Water Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) across the Hunter Region, including: Belmont, Morpeth, Boulder Bay, Raymond Terrace, Edgeworth, Toronto, Kurri Kurri, Cessnock amd Karuah.


PMHC Area 15 Pipeline & Pumpstation

The construction of the sewer pump station and 3 km of rising main for the Camden Haven area.

The infrastructure is required to service the approved 310 home sites future development located within the Camden Haven area.

The works consisted of
  • Construct new DN3800 wet well pumping station
  • Supply and install 3,277m sewer rising main (DN375 DICL)
  • Supply and installation of reclaimed water main (DN110 PE100 PN16)
  • Supply and install buffer tank, stand and associated works
  • Terminate rising main at inlet work


Belmont 6 Rising Main Replacement – Stage 2

Construction of 1,024m replacement section of a sewage rising main (RM) consisting of a 750 mm diameter steel pipeline (DICL with SINTAKOTE finish.

Awaba Waste Management Leachate Pump Station

Lake Macquarie City Council

Part of the expansion of the Awaba Waste Management Facility.  TCM was contracted to construct

    3,412 m of DN140/DN90 HDPE rising main

    Install two new DN160 gravity incoming lines

    1.2m x 1.2m x1.2m flowmeter/dosing pit with trafficable lid and flowmeter

    1.2m diameter actuated valve chamber

    1.8m diameter package pump station with intergral valve 80mm nominal diameter discharge pipework, valves and fittings


Construction of Fish River Steel Pipeline

State Water Corporation

Construction of 0.66 km long steel OD 914 – RRJ pipeline, 2.5 km long steel OD762 – RRJ pipeline, 0.6 km long steel OD762 welded pipeline, Scour valves, air valves and isolation valves, cross connections to Stage 1 and 3 pipelines (at two locations), Valve pits, thrust blocks, anchor blocks, supports, trench stops and bulkhead, end connection of new pipelines to existing Stage 2 pipeline (at four locations), 3 creek crossings. Pipeline grades exceeding 45%.

Working next to a high-pressure, live water main presented challenges to the project, as did the fragile ecosystem which was managed with erosion control measures and silt fencing as outlined in the construction environmental management plan.

Twenty six full days were lost to wet weather but the project was brought in on time and in budget.

Cessnock / Kurri Kurri WWTW Ponds Refurbishment

Removal and transport of 7000 cu.m filter media from Kurri Kurri WWTW to Cessnock WWTW, placement of the filter media around the ponds at Cessnock WWTW and refurbishment of the nominated areas at Kurri Kurri WWTW.

Demolition and restoration work for the refurbishment of the redundant filter beds at the Kurri Kurri WWTW.

Clarence Town Wastewater Transportation System

Completion of remaining works outstanding under terminated contract of former contractor for the construction of Clarence Town wastewater transportation system.

Construction of sewer gravity system.
Construction of 2 wastewater pump stations
Construction of sewer rising mains.

Many challenges were faced after the termination of the previous contractor. Community liaison was paramount to ensure the township of a speedy and professional completion to the project.

After completion of the remaining pipeline and two pump stations, many faults and leakages were found in the sections the previous contractor had constructed that had to be repaired. TCM completed this project with the client and community satisfied with the outcome.
